Hi
Anyone that happens to stumble upon this blog, guess what this is my first attempt at Blogging. I hope it’s not too boring and a little interesting. I am older than dirt and a little old fashion, so for the young folks bare with me.
To start off, I would like to advertise my online shopping store, “Bud’s Savings.com” I have about a 1000 products in three categories, (Pet supplies, Electronics, (Computers, Phones), and DIY Books and art supplies). I am hoping to add more products soon such as Holiday products like ‘Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas. But that is to be seen, depending how my first items sale. So if you have some time take a look.
I guess to provide some information about myself, I am retired Navy 26 years. I begin my career as soon as I turned 17 and enlisted in the Naval Submarine Reserve. I joined the Reserves when Vietnam was going strong and I did not want to be Drafted, so I could go to College. But that did not work as planned. I was called to duty and served on the USS Ronquil SS 396 (Diesel/Electric Submarine) for four and half years.
I was transfer to Instructor Training School in Great Lakes, ILL. then to Naval Reserve Center, Elizabeth NJ. for two years. I was then transferred to the USS Barbel SS580 (Diesel/Electric Submarine) in Pearl Harbor, HI. for four years. I was transferred to the Gas Turbine Training Pipeline at Great Lakes, ILL. for four years. Getting bored yet? Because next I was transferred to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to the Naval Damage Control Training Command for two years. Then to the USS John Young DD 973, (Gas Turbine Propulsion ship) for two years and then finally to the Surface Warfare Officer School at Coronado, San Diego, CA. for four years, where I completed my Naval career.
I have had various businesses since I retired. I worked for a consulting Company, which provided engineering consulting services to shipyards doing Naval ship repairs. I was a partner in a Auto Repair Shop, where we did complete body off restoration of classic Corvettes. I have worked at a Golf course as head mechanic. I moved from Southern California to a beautiful area of Northern New Mexico where my wife and I managed a motel. While managing the motel I started a small engine repair business and Bud’s Delivery Service, I contracted with the US Postal Service to transported bulk mail, which eventually developed into delivering mail to 190 Customers and 20 years. I would probably still be delivering the mail if I hadn’t broke my leg.
My wife and I finally decided to retire and move to a piece of property we purchased almost 18 years age. My wife passed away eight months ago and I am bored and need something to occupy my days. I could always start a blog discussing Politics, I’ve being around along time and lived through many administrations, but this election is just a s**t show.
Enough said!
